Judy Maddigan MP, Member for Essendon, is pleased to announce that Victorian Multicultural Commission's 2009-10 Round Two Festivals and Events Grants program and Victoria's Multicultural Awards for Excellence are now open.
Festivals and Events Grants
Non-profit groups, organisations, council bodies or schools can apply for funding towards projects such as street festivals, annual dinner dances, community luncheons and theatre performances to be held from January to July 2010.
Events held during Cultural Diversity Week 14-21 March and Refugee Week 20-26 June will be given priority in this round of funding.
Applications close 25th September 2009.
Victoria's Multicultural Awards for Excellence
These awards recognise Victorians from culturally diverse backgrounds who have contributed significantly to the social, political, cultural and economic life of Victoria.
Applications close 30th September 2009.
"I encourage groups to participate in these programmes which aim to celebrate Victoria's diversity and multicultural heritage," Mrs Maddigan said.
"My electorate of Essendon in particular has a wonderful ethnic mix which enhances our vibrant community spirit." She said
