Judy Maddigan, Member for Essendon, is pleased to announce that five local sports clubs have received grants under the State Government's 2007 VicHealth Active Club Grants Programme.
The grants focus on providing equipment or training to clubs so they can increase physical activity opportunities for potential participants.
"VicHealth grants assist local clubs to encourage the participation of people who otherwise would not be active, in particular people from low socio-economic areas, people with disabilities, and refugees." Mrs Maddigan said.
"The 5 successful local clubs have displayed true community spirit and I congratulate them for their efforts." She said.
