Judy Maddigan MP, Member for Essendon is pleased to announce the commencement of the Recreational Fishing Grants Program (RFGP) 2007/08.
Funding is available through the Program for the purpose of improving recreational fishing in Victoria in four project categories including:
a) Recreational fisheries' sustainability and habitat improvement (including fish stocking);
b) Recreational fishing access and facilities;
c) Recreational fisheries research; and
d) Recreational fisheries related education, information and training
Eligible projects will be funded from July 2008. Funding is available to incorporated, statutory and government bodies and registered companies, and angling clubs and associations.
"The Brumby Government is committed to providing more opportunities for Victoria's many recreational fishers while managing the sustainability of our fisheries." Mrs Maddigan said.
