Traffic flow in the morning peak along Buckley Street Essendon is about to improve with the installation of a new part time clearway, Judy Maddigan Member for Essendon, announced today.
The clearway will operate from 7am to 9am Monday to Friday on the northern side of Buckley Street for traffic travelling eastbound between Hoffmans Rd and Lincoln Rd.
Mrs Maddigan said the clearway formed part of the Government's strategy to manage traffic congestion.
"The State Government's Meeting our Transport Challenges identifies public transport as a key to managing the city's transport needs in the future," Mrs Maddigan said.
"Improved traffic flow will provide real travel time benefits for bus passengers, and encourage more people to use public transport."
Mrs Maddigan acknowledged the support of the City of Moonee Valley. "I thank council for their support in bringing this important project to fruition" She said.
